The Trust Board has a Register of Interests

As part of this Multi Academy Trust, our Local Committee plays a central role in ensuring the smooth running and success of our school.
The Local Committee is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the school, working closely with the Chair, the Headteacher, and
the senior leadership team. The LC’s main duty is to quality assure the school to ensure it provides a broad, balanced, and inclusive curriculum
that enables all children to thrive. This includes monitoring the effectiveness of teaching and learning, reviewing policies, and ensuring the
school's resources are managed effectively.

We fulfil a strategic role, acting as a critical friend to the school and are collectively responsible for the continuing development of the schools.
We are not responsible for the day to day running of the school.

The Local Committee includes members from different parts of the community:
• Headteacher
• Parent/carer members: parents/carers of children at the schools elected as representatives of the parent body by election who are
appointed for a 4-year term. Parents/carers may be appointed by GST if there are fewer nominations than vacancies. Parent LC
member’s second term of office will only occur if they have been re-elected;
• Staff members: elected by the staff body. The staff LC member’s second term of office will only continue if they have been re-elected;
• General members.

All LC members are appointed by the Board of The Good Shepherd Trust, including those proposed through election.

We are all volunteers and, as a team, find it a very rewarding experience to work together to ensure that we deliver the very best education for
all children at our schools.

You will find a brief introduction to each member of the Local Committee on our Meet the Local Committee page. We would very much
welcome your feedback or comments and would invite you to contact us in the first instance, via our email
address governors@ottershawcofeschools.surrey.sch.uk and we will ensure that the right person then deals with your message.

The Local Committee meets six times a year.
